30 Days...

I made a commitment to myself this summer that I would create an exercise habit - one that would be easy to stick with when life got busy, one that wasn't dependent on the weather. As much as I want to be a runner, I'm not. I can aspire to run a 5K, but when it is 90 degrees, the last thing I want to do is hoof it on the pavement and sweat. If I was completely honest on this blog, I would admit to wanting to sit in my chair in an air conditioned room watching day time television and eating chocolate. I can dream right?! I tried P90X last year and was tremendously successful, but then life got in the way, a new job made my time scarce, and exercise was put on the back burner. After working from 6:30-6:30, the last thing I wanted to do was come home and exercise and then cook and then do all of my school work. Love Story Monday

A dear friend of mine is hosting a link-up on her blog about love stories. She has asked friends to share their own love stories. So, here it goes.... In the spring of 1996, I was a junior in college in Louisiana. During my time in college, became involved with the Baptist Student Union on campus. This became my social hub and provided me with friendships and a place to wind down. I was introduced to the summer missionary program the year before while studying at a different college and was eagerly anticipating participating in the upcoming summer. In order to participate, I had to apply and go through an interview process. At some point in this process, I was given a list of possible missionary assignments and was asked to choose my top 3 choices of placement. My top choice was Australia. Dear Baby of Mine, Oh sweet little life, that was mine for only a moment. Not a second of any day goes by without my thoughts drifting to you and the life that could have been. There are days where the thoughts come quickly and pass without emotion, and there are day where they hang like the dark clouds before a storm. Today would have been your fourth birthday. You would have shared it with your Momee Carole, Daddy's mom. We would have had cake and presents and balloons.
