30 Days of Thankful - Day 11

Good girlfriends are hard to find these days - especially those that stick around through all of the seasons of your life.  Fortunately, I have a few that I know would come running if I ever picked up the phone and said I needed them.  Today I am thankful for Alice.

When I was in junior high, I was blessed to meet Alice.  She and her family joined our church and we connected immediately.  We spent countless hours at each other's houses, on youth trips, and many nights on the phone.  We've had our share of heartaches and victories, laughter, smiles, and tears.  We lost touch a few years, but the connection was still there.  I've been blessed over the last few months to reconnect and rekindle our friendship.  Alice is the type of friend you call family.  She loves me warts and all.  I'm not afraid to be myself around her for the simple fact that she doesn't judge me for what comes out of my mouth.

I'm thankful for her and the ray of sunshine that she is. I love that she knew me when I made questionable fashion choices (big hair and acid wash jeans), didn't know who I was and spent time trying to impress others,  struggled with fitting in, and was dateless - and despite all of it, she loved me still.

I love you Alice!!
