30 Days of Thankful - Day 21-23

Day 21 - Today I am most thankful for creativity and the job that allows me to go with it.  I found an amazing book at Barnes and Noble over the weekend about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  It told the history of the balloons.  I read it and had to have it for my class, so I spent the entire weekend planning activities for the week.  Yes, I know I should have taught about the pilgrims and indians, but the balloons were waiting and they never get taught in classrooms.  So, I brought it in with Youtube videos, design a balloon contests, persuasive writing...it was fabulous!

Day 22 - I'm thankful for an amazing group of parents at my school!  They sent all the staff home with a pie to show how thankful they are for the work that we do for their children.  Love that mine was a pecan pie - a black bottom pecan pie to be specific - loaded with chocolate chips!  Thank you parents!

Day 23 Today I am most thankful for not having to set an alarm clock for the next 5 days!  I love what I do, but I absolutely enjoy my time off.  It was a nice gift to not have to wake up at 4:45am today.  Although it was earlier than what I would have liked (7:00 am thanks to a little pup), it was a nice change.  I woke up and eased into the morning with a great cup of coffee and snuggle time with Taku.
