Beyond Blessed

As I sit on my couch this morning, 700 miles from my mother, I find myself thinking of all of the memories I've had with her over my life and all of the sacrifices that she made, along with my dad, to make my life full and complete. There were MANY days that she put her own wants and needs aside so my brother and I could have something we wanted - new clothes, shoes, cars, trips and more.

There were times when we didn't agree, but she would share her opinion quitely, but firmly, and then let me come to my own conclusions. Of course, while growing up, there were more time when I disagreed as I was carving out a path of my own, but now, I have come to see her opinions as wise beyond my years. My mother has always been a woman of the Word, and continue to be. When I need advice, I can always turn to her, not only for her advice, but wisdom from scripture.

My mom passed down a love for the outdoors and animals to me and I thank her for it. I would have never met my husband if I didn't love the outdoors :) Thanks Mom!!

While growing up, I would have never admitted that I was so much like her, but today - down to our preference of jeans and t-shirts with comfortable shoes, little make-up and few accessories - I think it's more obvious. An appreciation for the simple things.

So, on this mother's day - I love you Momma!! Thanks for all that you have done for me!

Shasta,
I love you, I love you, I love you.
Thanks for the beautiful words of love to me. There are times I miss you so much, but I find comfort in knowing you are cared for by the Lord. I'm proud of who you have become, so proud ! As I grow older, I find how much I am like my mother too. I look at my hands and see my mother's. I dig in the dirt and feel I have embodied her at times. I care for children and find my mother reborn in me. Yet, I see my daddy in me too. My love for animals I believe comes from him and the outdoors. Let me say a thousand times over how precious you are and will always be to me.
I love your style and loving ways toward even those who aren't like you. Always be who you are and don't change for anyone.
Love,
Mom
